The association ROMB was founded by Ada Kobusiewicz and Radmila Stanković in August 2018 in Graz with the name MEHR LICHT. The aim of this non-profit organization is the implementation and promotion of contemporary art in public space, i.e., the development, production and presentation of projects and installations that use public space as a temporary and regular exhibition space, developing the basis for educational and social engagement on relevant contemporary issues.

Our focus on public space is motivated by the belief that art’s role in society is not merely reflective, but transformational. By confronting passersby with topics they otherwise might not engage with, art moves beyond mere social commentary and become an active participant in shaping societal discourse. This is a necessary evolution from the 19th Century White Cube concept of the “institutionalised” presentation of art to one that is more relevant to the 21st Century.
